Putting our green money where our mouth is - Neighbourhood Energy Goes Green
06 May, 2008
From April 28, Our administrative offices and inbound call centre will be powered by GreenLight. This means 100% of our energy usage will be sourced from accredited GreenPower sources such as solar, wind, biomass and mini-hydro. We always use recycled paper but we’re going one step further and our corporate stationery will be printed using waterless printing methods and vegetable inks.
Here are a few simple ways to green your office environment.-
If you don’t have to print it, don’t. Even recycled paper uses energy and generates waste, producing toxic pulp slurry in its processing.
-
If you don’t have to burn the midnight oil, don’t burn the energy. Turn lights and PC’s off when not in use.
-
It’s not just paper that can be recycled, you can also recycle PC’s, printers, faxes and phones.
- Buy furniture, carpet and paint that are free of toxic VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).
