Neighbourhood Energy welcomes the Casey Kidz Klub
31 Jan, 2008
Neighbourhood Energy warmly welcomes its newest Community Partner, the Casey Kidz Klub.
The Casey Kidz Klub is a not for profit organization that provides out of school care for disabled teenagers. The club was founded in April 2006 to bridge a gap in support services and provide relief for impacted families struggling with the challenges associated to caring for special needs dependants.
The Casey Kidz Klub focuses on delivering quality support in the areas of educational and social development and provides a dynamic environment that maximises the potential of each participant. This is achieved through a targeted blend of academic and sporting activities that are designed to explore the boundaries of each individual. By using encouragement and proven interventions, the Casey Kidz Klub has demonstrated that consistent support realises dramatic outcomes.
Located at Beaconhills College, Berwick, the Casey Kidz Klub enjoys the support of the local community and is recognised as a key contributor to special needs services. This recognition extends to all levels of government with the program being considered a pilot that may lead to similar services being replicated in other communities.
Another key benefit delivered by the Casey Kidz Klub is support for families that include a special needs teenager. Through networking, education and access to services, families are able to find relief from what can be an otherwise relentless process. Family activities provide opportunity for our members to interact and share leading to a greater sense of belonging and an understanding that they are not alone in some of the challenges that often emerge where special needs are present.
Recently the Federal and Local governments have committed to provide funding to guarantee the long-term future of the Casey Kidz Klub. This recognition highlights the vital importance of the program. The corporate community also supports the Casey Kidz Klub. Businesses such as Coles, Nick Baldi Constructions, Flash Air, Ritchies, electricity company Neighbourhood Energy have shown that they are committed to Casey Kidz Klub by facilitating funding through their Community Partner Program to ensure that this valuable service continues. Variety the children's charity have also assisted. These corporate contributions add significantly to the lives of children participating in the program.
