Switch to Neighbourhood Energy

Neighbourhood Energy currently sells electricity to Victorian residential customers only, but we plan to make our products and services available to business customers in Victoria, and residential and business customers in other states as well. Neighbourhood Energy offers customers a 10% pay-on-time discount and the following options:

• Donate the 10% pay-on-time discount to a charity or community group of your choice;
• Keep the 10% pay-on-time discount for yourself;
• Choose your level of Green (coming soon).

Switching to Neighbourhood Energy is easy. Before you start:

• Have your email address ready
• Have a copy of a recent electricity bill

(this is not essential, it will just help us process your application faster)

Pay-on-time discount. When you pay the full amount of your bill on time, a 10% discount will be applied as a credit on your next bill. You may keep the discount or donate it to a charity or community group of your choice.Community Partner Program. The Community Partner Program allows our customers to provide a tangible contribution to the community through the donation of their 10% pay-on-time discount to a charity or community group of their choice. Please email communitypartners@neighbourhood.com.au if you are interested in joining or donating to our Community Partner Program.

GreenLight Accredited GreenPower. Neighbourhood Energy offers customers 100% accredited GreenPower with GreenLight. When you purchase GreenLight, we guarantee that 100% of your electricity is sourced from renewable energy generators accredited by the GreenPower Authority. To provide our customers with greater clean energy choices, we will soon be offering GreenLight 50%, 25%, 10%. Contract and Exit Fees. Neighbourhood Energy electricity accounts have no fixed-term contracts or exit fees.

Customer Referral Program. Being a Neighbourhood Energy customer has its rewards. Simply refer a friend, colleague or family member to us, and for each referral who becomes a customer we will thank you with a $30 gift voucher. Community Partner Referral Program. If you have been referred to Neighbourhood Energy by your favourite charity or community group we will thank them with a $30 cash donation when you switch your electricity to us. Simply enter the referral code provided by your Community Partner when you complete your online electricity application and we’ll do the rest.

Email billing and Direct Debit Payment. We actively encourage our customers to switch to convenient email billing and direct debit bill payment and will thank all customers who take up either offer with a $10 gift voucher from Coles Myer. Customers who switch to both direct debit and email billing will receive a $20 voucher. We also accept payment by Electronic Funds Transfer, BPay from your cheque or saving account, POSTbillpay, Internet or Telephone payments, or in person at any branch of Australia Post.

Your electricity bill. You will receive your Neighbourhood Energy electricity account by postal mail or email on a monthly basis. Your Neighbourhood Energy bills are issued monthly, based on an estimate of your electricity consumption and are reconciled quarterly with your actual consumption.

Tariff structure. The Neighbourhood Energy tariff structure is comprised of peak usage, off peak usage & supply charge. We use the regulated retail tariffs that are relevant to your supply address.
